Our first priority is making sure only products that have passed three important phases of testing can wear the Better Valu™ brand.

1. At The Plant

Every Better Valu manufacturer has been inspected by a third party auditor to meet or exceed FDA, HACCP and USDA entry level price point standards for cleanliness, safety, manufacturing procedure and quality guidelines.

The manufacturer is reviewed for compliance in food safety, product recall, bioterrorism response, allergens, traceability, country of origin and ingredients.  

Auditors then perform additional plant inspections at least once per year to make sure our requirements continue to be met.

2. In Our Labs

Every Better Valu item is thoroughly tested in our laboratories to ensure the ingredients meet U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and/or United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards. Foods undergo scientific ingredient checks and consumer taste tests. Household and personal care items are tested for safety and performance.

3. At the Store

At least once per year, we visit stores that carry Better Valu and take product off the shelf, checking freshness dates, package condition and more to help ensure customer satisfaction. Then we bring the products back to the lab and once again put them through the same ingredient, performance, safety and taste tests as before.
